Jo Coleman appointed as new wholeSEM Advisory Board Chair
11 February 2016
Jo Coleman, Strategy Development Director at the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) has been appointed as Chair of the wholeSEM Advisory Board. She takes over from Professor Jim Skea, who has recently been elected Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III. He will remain as a member of the wholeSEM Advisory Board.
Of her appointment, Jo said “I’m delighted to be taking over the Chair of the wholeSEM Advisory Board from Jim Skea. Energy system modelling is essential to understanding the options and choices for the UK’s future energy system and making informed decisions in a complex and uncertain environment. The wholeSEM consortium has developed a suite of energy system models and is embarking on the really exciting part of the project by applying these models and learnings to the challenges and opportunities faced in delivering an affordable, secure, low carbon energy system for the UK.”
Professor Neil Strachan, Principal Investigator for wholeSEM, says of the appointment "I am very pleased to welcome Jo as our new Chair, her industry/policy background will be invaluable to us".
