On 18 July 2014, Professor Chen Wenying from Tsinghua University (China) visited UCL Energy to meet with the UCL wholeSEM team and to deliver a seminar titled 'Modelling of the Coupled Energy- Environment System'. The presentation focused on China energy and climate policy. Professor Chen Wenying is Deputy Director at the Institute of Energy Environment and Economy, Tsinghua University, China. Her research activities have focused on energy system modeling, sustainable energy development and climate change mitigation strategies.

Her visit to UCL included an in depth meeting with the UCL wholeSEM team on links between the UK and Chinese TIMES energy modelling teams.
